PlumbersComp is a licensed insurance agency placing workers compensation for plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and fire sprinkler contractors with W-2 payroll. Coverage is underwritten by Vesper Risk and issued by Clear Spring Property and Casualty Group, rated A− (Excellent) by A.M. Best. Workers compensation is the only thing we do.
After years on the insurance company side, we saw how small contractors get treated. Nobody explains why their premium is what it is or what they can do to lower it, and when they have a question they wait on hold, because a small account is not a priority for their agent. Contractors are busy, they run their business from their phone, and they never asked to be in the insurance business. Brad has spent his career in workers’ compensation. He was chief operating officer of a workers’ compensation insurance company and ran a workers’ compensation consulting practice before co-founding Vesper Risk. He is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society, a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries, and a licensed insurance producer.

Derek has more than 20 years in property and casualty insurance, most recently as VP of Data Science at a workers’ compensation carrier. Before that he worked in analytics at a workers’ compensation rating bureau. His predictive models allow contractors to get the most reasonable insurance premiums. He is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society.
Behind them is a team of licensed producers, underwriters, and a policy administration team with Spanish-speaking members.
We do not have to fight with an underwriter at the insurance company. Through Vesper Risk, we set your pricing with our own underwriters, and the insurance company approves it based on its review. That lets us make sure your premium is not excessive. Most agents do not have this authority — they have to accept what the insurance company tells them. We fight for you.
